To help you make decisions around what plans options are available to you, NMRHCA holds a series of meetings during the months of October and November throughout the state and virtually. At these meetings NMRHCA staff and plan providers will present the details of your options so you are informed and can make the best decision for you.

PARKING INFORMATION
Attendees of the NMRHCA Open & Switch Enrollment meetings at New Mexico State University (NMSU) on October 12 & 13, 2026 can park for free without a citation in Lots 41, 42, and 43 between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Parking outside of these specific lots, dates, or times may result in a parking citation.
- Parking Options for the Event
Free Event Lots (No Permit Required): You can park in Lots 41, 42, and 43 (which are labeled on campus). This free window is strictly limited to 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on October 12 and 13. - Metered Parking: Available at the West entrance of the Corbett Center. If you choose this option, you must pay/feed the meter to avoid a ticket. Meters on campus generally cost $1.50 per hour and are operational from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Free Daily E-Permit Option: If you prefer to park in other standard parking lots, you can pre-register online for a Free single-day E-Permit. Visit the NMSU Visitor Parking Portal prior to arriving. https://services.nmsu.edu/parking/visitors.html

What is SWITCH Enrollment?
Switch Enrollment happens each year between early October to mid-November allowing current NMRHCA members to switch health plans. In late September, members receive a Switch Packet in the mail that includes information about their existing plan and the paperwork to make any desired changes. The paperwork for changes must be submitted to the NMRHCA before the published deadline and the changes will take effect on Jan 1st of the new year. Each year, members can change their plan, if they choose to. If the member does not want to make any changes, they do not have to take any action and their current plan will automatically renew the following year.
What is OPEN Enrollment?
Open Enrollment is the period where members who are eligible to receive NMRHCA benefits can enroll in a health plan when they have not done so previously at the time of a qualifying event. Examples of qualifying events include eligible retirement or loss of coverage somewhere else. If they elected to not enroll in benefits at the time of a qualifying event, they can only enroll during Open Enrollment. Open Enrollment is only in January of every odd year (2023, 2025, 2027, so forth). The process of Open Enrollment occurs during the same period (early October to mid-November) as Switch Enrollment, but only in odd years. The deadline for Open Enrollment submissions is January 31st, which is NOT the same date as the Switch Enrollment deadline.
